OUR STORY
Perdekraal is tucked away in the hills of the Mpumalanga highveld, just a five minute drive from Ermelo. According to legend, passed on to the De Jager family by the previous owners, the farm used to serve as the headquarters of General Louis Botha during the South African War.
Owners, Oubaas and Marie de Jager, bought the farm roughly four years ago. However, the wedding venue came into existence quite spontaneously. Their daughter, Lizelle, wasn’t able to find a venue that suited her needs for her own wedding. With the help of Andre van Staden, a well-known personality in the design and wedding planning circles, they all pulled together and transformed the old milk shed on the farm into a breathtaking reception hall, beautified the garden and lawn. After that being such a success, they realised how much fun they could have using the space they created to help make other brides’ dreams come true, too.
Apart from hosting weddings on weekends, the De Jagers are also the owners of security company, Acsu. They have a passion for helping people and are well-loved in the community of Ermelo.
Combining Marie’s love and keen eye for anything beautiful, and being able to make it all work together; Lizelle’s knowledge and experience as a chef and her excellent organisational skills; and Andre’s creativity and experience in every aspect of weddings – from the humblest of weddings to the most extravagant affair; Perdekraal will make your matrimonial experience one for the books!
